GLENDALE, AZ (November 19, 2013) – The Rapid City Rush rattled off 10 straight wins to start the season, tying the CHL record, and for their efforts have been voted the #1 team on the Sher-Wood Coaches Poll. The poll is released on or near the beginning and middle of each month throughout the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place votes earn 9 points, etc.The Rush (10-1-0) faced off with #2 team on the most current poll, the Missouri Mavericks (9-1-0), last Friday night in a battle of unbeatens that ultimately was taken by the Rush. Missouri then bounced back the next night and ended the Rush’s win streak. Both Rapid City and Missouri earned first place votes on the current poll with the Rush gaining seven first place nods and the Mavericks three. Both teams jumped up two spots from the previous poll.The #1 team on the opening poll was the Denver Cutthroats (7-3-3) who fell down to the #4 spot after going 2-3-3 since the previous poll was released. The biggest climber in the current poll is the Tulsa Oilers (7-6-2) who moved from the #10 spot all the way up to #5.
