(RAPID CITY, SD) – Tomorrow night, the Rapid City Rush look to extend their season by one more game in a crucial Game 6 matchup with the Quad City Mallards. In their opening round series of the Ray Miron President’s Cup Playoffs, the Rush trail 3-2 to the Mallards, who won two out of three games in the Quad Cities to take the series lead that they possess. The Rush have two potential games at home to decide this series, and this is where home-ice advantage makes the most difference in the playoffs.
“All season long we fought for a chance to play at home to decide games like this in our rink,” said Rush forward Konrad Reeder. “If we win tomorrow night then we get Game 7 in our building and it’s a great opportunity for our team. For games like this, you have to prepare like any other game, but at the same time you need to leave it all out on the ice. You play like it’s going to be your last game, and that’s the exciting part of playoff hockey: the preparation for major games like this at home.”
Tickets are still on sale for Game 6 tomorrow night and Game 7 Wednesday night, should it be necessary. This team needs all of Rush Nation in Rushmore Plaza Civic Center tomorrow night to help will the Boys from the Black Hills to a big win!
