(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush took part in a “Dunk the Rush” event yesterday at the Somerset Court Retirement Community. All participants were given an opportunity to purchase throws to attempt to dunk Rush defenseman Riley Weselowski, “Voice of the Rush” Mark Binetti, and Assistant General Manager Brandon Schumacher in a water tank. All proceeds benefitted the Special Olympics of the Black Hills. The event helped raise $605 for their cause.
“It’s always nice to participate in these events, especially benefitting the Special Olympics,” said Assistant GM Brandon Schumacher. “It’s a great cause that we as an organization are honored to help in any way that we can. It felt great to see such a positive turnout and see everyone have a blast.”
“I enjoyed getting dunked for the Special Olympics. I’m just glad the water wasn’t freezing,” added Mark Binetti, “Voice of the Rush”. “I can’t agree more with what Brandon said. It feels great to represent the Rush organization alongside the Special Olympics athletes. I hope to be able to participate in more events with them in the future.”
