RUSH HAVE TRANSACTION-FILLED WEDNESDAY

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced another series of transactions this afternoon. Rookie goaltender Etienne Marcoux has been re-called by the AHL’s Norfolk Admirals, while defenseman Mathieu Brisebois has been assigned to the Rush by the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks. Additionally, defenseman Landon Oslanski has been traded to the Missouri Mavericks for defenseman Dallas Ehrhardt. Rounding out the moves were defenseman Riley Weselowski and forward Robin Soudek, who have been placed on the reserve list and 21-day injured reserve, respectively.

A native of Mont St-Hilaire, Quebec, Brisebois comes to the Rush by virtue of an assignment by the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks. The second-year defenseman spent parts of this season in the Blackhawks development system with the ECHL’s Indy Fuel and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs. With the Fuel, the 5’11”, 190-pound defenseman suited up in 31 contests, racking up 2 goals along with 12 assists for 14 points. He only played in one game for Rockford this season, but split last season between the IceHogs (13 games) and the Portland Pirates, AHL affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes (28 games), totaling 3 goals and 7 assists for 10 points between both clubs. Prior to playing professionally, Brisebois played three seasons for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the QMJHL, registering 147 points in 179 games.

Ehrhardt joins the Rush by virtue of a trade with the Missouri Mavericks for defenseman Landon Oslanski. This season, the second-year pro from Calgary, Alberta played in 23 games, recording a lone goal with 3 helpers for 4 points. As a rookie last year with the Allen Americans, he notched 7 assists in 47 contests. Before becoming a professional, he spent four seasons in the WHL, playing with the Brandon Wheat Kings, the Moose Jaw Warriors, and the Prince George Cougars.

The Rush embark on a three-game-in-three-night set this weekend on the road, playing against the Quad City Mallards on Friday night (6:05 p.m. MST) and Sunday afternoon (3:05 p.m. MST), with a showdown against the Missouri Mavericks in-between on Saturday night (6:05 p.m. MST).
