(RAPID CITY, SD) – Having earned their sixth consecutive trip to the playoffs in franchise history, the Rapid City Rush have now advanced to the second round of the ECHL’s 2015 Kelly Cup Playoffs in their first season in the “Premier ‘AA’ Hockey League”. The organization announced the schedule for the second round, the Central Division Finals, earlier today. In the Central Division Finals, the Rush will take on their rivals, the Central Division’s Regular Season Champions and owners of the ECHL’s second-best overall record, the Allen Americans, in a best-of-seven series. The Americans will have home-ice advantage in this round. The winner of the Central Division Finals will play the winner of the Pacific Division Finals series featuring the #2 Ontario Reign and the #4 Utah Grizzlies.
“We’re very excited to reach the Central Division Finals against the Allen Americans,” said Rush Head Coach and GM Joe Ferras. “It was a very hard-fought and testy series against the Quad City Mallards that concluded with a Game 7 that featured everything, including a dramatic ending with Cody Ferriero getting the series-clinching goal with just over a minute left in the game.”
The schedule for the second round is as follows:
• Game 1: Friday, May 1st, 6:05 p.m. at Allen Events Center
• Game 2: Saturday, May 2nd, 6:05 p.m. at Allen Events Center
• Game 3: Thursday, May 7th, 6:35 p.m. at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
• Game 4: Saturday, May 9th, 8:05 p.m. at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center
• Game 5*: Sunday, May 10th, 5:05 p.m. at Rusmore Plaza Civic Center
• Game 6*: Tuesday, May 12th, 6:05 p.m.at Allen Events Center
• Game 7*: Wednesday, May 13th 6:05 p.m. at Allen Events Center
