(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Tucson Roadrunners, AHL affiliate of the Rapid City Rush, announced today that goaltender Marek Langhamer has been assigned to the Rush. He will join the team on the road this week.
Langhamer appeared in one game with the Roadrunners, winning the contest on the strength of 43 saves on 44 shots faced in 63 minutes of action. Last year, the 6’3”, 187-pound net-minder split the season with the Rush and the former AHL affiliate, the Springfield Falcons. In the Black Hills, Langhamer posted a 5-2-1 record in 8 appearances with a 2.23 GAA and 0.935 SV%, and tore onto the scene winning his first game on the strength of a 36-save shutout against the Utah Grizzlies on November 14, 2015. Additionally, for his body of work for the week of November 23rd to November 29th, he was named the CCM/ECHL Goaltender of the Week, when he went a perfect 2-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and 0.975 SV%, only allowing 2 goals on 80 total shots while posting a shutout streak of 100:13.
Following his time in Rapid City, the Morovska Trebova, Czech Republic native went to Springfield in the AHL and went 7-9-2 with a 3.80 GAA and 0.883 SV%. Twice he was called up to the NHL with the Arizona Coyotes, becoming the first player in Rush history to make it to the NHL level, but he did not play in a game. Prior to turning professional, Langhamer played his junior hockey with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL, and was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Draft (7th Rd-#184).
