(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, were at Knollwood Heights Elementary School as part of the Pennington County Juvenile Diversion Program, stressing the importance to our local youth about coming to school every day, and striving to attend class.
The rookie trio of Hunter Fejes, Nick Miglio, and Anthony Mastrodicasa took a trip down memory lane and participated in recess activities, followed by a sit down at lunch with students from varying grades. This visit from the Rush players was a reward for students that come to class every day, prepared to learn and engage in their education. They helped promote perfect attendance and punctuality in coming to class.
“On November 30th, Pennington County’s Juvenile Diversion Program, Knollwood Elementary and the Rapid City Rush worked together to promote daily school attendance by celebrating with students during their lunch hour,” said Michelle Macrander from the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s Office. “It was a great reward for the students who attended school on Wednesday. We look forward to further collaboration opportunities with the Rapid City Rush and Rapid City Area Schools to raise awareness of the importance of daily school attendance.”
