(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, are excited to announce that Moda-Stone has signed a multi-year commitment to Rush hockey.
“The Rausch family has been doing business in Rapid City, and has been an active member of our wonderful Black Hills community for over 55 years. Tim Rausch and his employees are the epitome of good, honest people who do outstanding work,” said Jay Davis, Director of Corporate Partnerships with the Rapid City Rush. “We are excited to have this long-term commitment from Moda-Stone, which only enforces the Rapid City Rush’s commitment to the Black Hills for the next ten years.”

A family-owned business, Moda-Stone sells granite countertops and fireplace surrounds, with a full-production monument shop in the back of their space, where they design, layout, and sandblast each custom-made monument. Operated by the Rausch family, Moda-Stone is deeply rooted in Rapid City. The company has seen four generations of excellence dating back to 1934 when Valentine Rausch purchased a share of the Columbia Granite Co. His four sons Norbert, Severin, Herman, and Eugene, took over the retail portion of the company in 1948, and re-named it Rausch Brothers Granite Company.
Herman Rausch then opened Rausch Monuments in Rapid City in 1961, a monument retail company that has since continued to work alongside Rausch Brothers Granite Company to this day. Rausch Monuments purchased a property at 2020 Jackson Blvd, and the property was later converted into a strip mall where Rausch Monuments stood as a store front for several more years. In 1985, Chuck Rausch, Herman’s eldest son, took over Rausch Monuments, and in 2005, moved it to Jackson Boulevard in Rapid City. In recent years, Rausch has begun to focus more on countertops with its Moda-Stone product line, which just moved this year to 907 Jackson Blvd.
“We are excited to see the Rush play another ten years and create more history of great hockey here in Rapid City,” said Tim Rausch, President of Moda-Stone/Lifesong. “Rush hockey has become an activity that all of us here at Moda-Stone look forward to every fall. GO RUSH!”
