(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, in conjunction with their AHL affiliate, the Iowa Wild, announced today that 10 Rush players are participating in Iowa’s AHL Training Camp that started today. In addition to the Rush players, Rush Head Coach Daniel Tetrault, and Assistant Coach Nello Ferrara are also at Iowa’s AHL camp this week.
“I’m excited for the fact that we have 10 of our guys attending Iowa’s camp, which is almost unheard of,” said Rush Head Coach, Daniel Tetrault. “They get to experience a camp at a higher level and a higher pace right out of the gates, and are really trying to make a good first impression on the Iowa coaching staff for potential call-ups for the upcoming season. They’re learning how the Wild run their day-to-day operations, and learn systems that Coach Nello and I will incorporate with the Rush as well.”
The following Rush players are currently in Des Moines, Iowa, with the Iowa Wild skating in camp:
Forwards (7):
Anthony Flaherty
Danny Smith
Andrew Miller
Kenton Miller
Kyle Dutra
Ryan Tesink
Darik Angeli
Defensemen (3):
Geoff Fortman
Vinny Muto
Josh Elmes
“The guys had a great first day on the ice,” Coach Tetrault added, “and have all made a great impression as well. This is yet another opportunity for Nello and me to evaluate the talent we’ll be working with when our camp starts next week. They’re hungry and willing to learn, so it should be a fun and exciting week here in Iowa.”
