(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Minnesota Wild, announced today that forward Alec Baer has been signed by the team, and is expected to make his professional debut tonight. He will wear #93.
Baer comes to the Rush after the completion of his major-junior career in the WHL. The 5’10”, 175-pound forward played his final WHL season with the Kootenay Ice, and shattered career-highs in every offensive category, earning 30 goals and 31 assists for 61 points in the full 72-game slate. The St. Louis Park, Minnesota native played in parts of 6 seasons in the WHL, spending the vast majority of his major junior career with the Vancouver Giants, but also played with the Ice and the Lethbridge Hurricanes. In total, Baer played in 342 WHL games, and amassed 86 goals, 101 assists, and 187 points.
The Rush take to the road this week for their final three matchups head-to-head against the Mountain Division rival Idaho Steelheads. Puck drop for the first game is slated for 7:10 p.m. MST tonight at CenturyLink Arena.
