(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today that the team has acquired forward Darby Llewellyn from the Atlanta Gladiators in exchange for future considerations. In a separate transaction, forward Robert Lepine was released. Llewellyn comes to the Rush after playing in a game this season with Atlanta, where he racked up 4 PIM and went -1 in the team’s 4-2 win over the Orlando Solar Bears last Saturday. Last season as a rookie, the 6’0”, 190-pound forward played in 66 games and registered 17 goals, 13 assists, and 30 points, along with 57 PIM and a +4 rating. He added an additional assist in 4 playoff games. A native of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Llewellyn hails from the Kitchener Rangers program in the OHL, where he played four seasons and 301 games, earning career totals of 95 goals, 76 assists, and 171 points. His older brother, Tristin, played for the Rush for a total of 45 games in the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons in the CHL era of the team, and compiled career totals of 6 goals, 20 assists, and 26 points along with a +19 rating. Like his brother, Darby will wear #44 as he makes his Rush debut this weekend. The Rush now head back home for home-opening weekend against the Kansas City Mavericks on October 20th and 21st. Puck drop for the 11th season opener in team history on Saturday the 20th is slated for 7:05. ######
