(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today the completion of another trade from this season. Earlier this year, the Rush sent rookie forward Adam Marsh to the Reading Royals in exchange for future considerations. The Rush have now received the future considerations portion of the trade in rookie defenseman Zach Todd.
Todd makes the Rush his fourth stop of the 2018-19 ECHL season. The 5’10”, 180-pound blue-liner began his season with the Orlando Solar Bears, playing in 3 games while recording a goal and an assist before venturing to the Wichita Thunder, where he scored once in 20 games. With Reading most recently, he supplied an assist in 4 contests.
A native of Holden, MA, Todd began his professional career last season following his college career with the Atlanta Gladiators, with whom he scored his first professional goal in 4 games. Prior to turning professionally, he played with Mercyhurst University in the NCAA ranks, registering 10 goals, 43 assists, and 53 points in 104 games, winning the 2018 AHA Regular Season Championship.
The Rush now embark on a two-game road trip this week, beginning with a Thursday night game against the Wichita Thunder tomorrow night, February 28th. Puck drop at INTRUST Bank Arena is slated for 6:05 p.m. MST.
