NOTES
ONE STREAK ENDS, THE OTHER CONTINUES: With the overtime loss to the Americans last night, the Rush’s five-game winning streak comes to a halt. However, the point earned keeps their point streak alive, and in doing so extends it to six games entering the rematch tonight. Rush Head Coach Daniel Tetrault is off to the best start of his coaching career with a 5-1-2-0 record, and the six-game point streak is one shy of tying his career-high of seven set last year from October 21st to November 3rd. The five-game winning streak also served as the longest in his career.
LET’S GO LEGAULT!: Making his highly anticipated 2019-20 season debut was rookie forward Stephane Legault, who was acquired earlier in the week in a future considerations deal with the South Carolina Stingrays. Legault wasted no time in contributing with his new team, and set up Tyler Poulsen’s break that helped tie the game in the third period. Legault averages a point-per-game in the ECHL since he made his professional debut last year, scoring 3 goals with 4 assists for 7 points in 7 games.
STICK IT TO YOUR FORMER TEAM: Rush forward Tyler Poulsen has 35 points in 65 games with the Rush since being acquired in a future considerations trade during Training Camp 2018 from the Allen Americans. Of those 35 points, over 20% have come against his former teammates in Allen, having scored 3 goals along with 5 assists for 8 points. This year, Poulsen has scored twice, one in each meeting so far. As a matter of fact, Poulsen enters the rematch with Allen on a five-game head-to-head point streak.
ON TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN: With the overtime loss last night against the Americans and an Idaho Steelheads regulation loss to the Utah Grizzlies, the point salvaged by the Rush bumps the team into a share of first place in the entire ECHL heading into tonight’s rematch with Allen.
WE’RE GOING STREAKING!: Only two players carry an active streak into tonight’s rematch against the Allen Americans:
- Ryker Killins - has assists and points in three straight games (3gp, 1g-4ast-5pts)
- Tyler Poulsen - has points in three straight games (3gp, 2g-1ast-3pts)
- Tyler Parks - is undefeated in regulation in five straight starts (3-0-2-0, 2.29 GAA, .931 SV%)
