NOTES

WE'RE HALFWAY THERE: If you finished that title with "Whoa! Livin' on a Prayer!", then you clearly understand a good music pun. After last night's win over Cincinnati, the Rush are halfway through the 2019-20 ECHL season. With 36 games to go, the Rush will play Mountain Division opponents 32 times: Allen for 4, Idaho for 7, Kansas City for 5, Tulsa for 4, and Wichita and Utah for 6 each. The team currently occupies a playoff spot, sitting in 3rd in the Mountain Division.

2020 VISION:  With their win against the Cyclones last night, the Rush earned 20 wins at the midway  point of the season for the third time in team history. To put that in perspective, at this time last year, the Rush were 14-17-2-3, and narrowly missed out on playoffs until the last week of the season. The other two instances of 20+ wins at the halfway mark are the 2009-10 Championship Season and the 2013-14 CHL Season.

CONNECT FOUR: For a second time this season, both on home ice, a Rush forward has gone on a scoring tear and tied team history. Rush Captain Peter Quenneville did just that, accounting for four of his team's five goals in a 5-2 win against the Cyclones. Quenneville completed the second fastest hat trick in Rush history from puck drop to the third goal scored, finishing his hat trick in 22:48 of hockey. Four goals in a game ties the franchise record, originally set by Dante Salituro in the final game of the 2017-18 season, and by Kelly Klima, matched on home-opening night of this season.

I AM RUBBER: Last night against Cincinnati was a third instance this season of the Rush winning the next game in a three-game series after dropping the first one, forcing a rubber match for the finale. In the previous two instances, the Rush won: 4-2 at Idaho on November 30th, and last Sunday by a 5-2 score against Utah on January 5th.

CONSISTENT OFFENSE: In the last 10 games, the Rush are 5-5-0-0. Despite the .500 showing, the Rush have consistently provided offense throughout that stretch, scoring in 20 of their last 30 periods of play, and in 9 of their last 12 periods of play.
