(RAPID CITY, S.D.) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames, have announced that the opening game of the 2023-24 season will now be played on Thursday, October 19 at 5:35 p.m. MT at Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.
Originally, the Iowa Heartlanders were supposed to host the Rush on Friday, October 20 and Saturday, October 21 at Xtream Arena. The weekend schedule has been changed to games on Thursday and Friday due to unforeseen circumstances arising from the Big Ten football game between the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Tickets that have been purchased for Saturday’s previously scheduled game will be honored by the Heartlanders for Thursday’s game. All ticketing questions and inquiries arising from the schedule change can be answered by calling the Heartlanders office at (319) 569-4625 or e-mailing them at tickets@iowaheartlanders.com.
While Friday’s game will remain as the official season-opening watch party at the Firehouse Sky Box, the Rush invite fans to come to the Sky Box to watch Thursday’s game downtown as well.
