RAPID CITY (November 19th, 2013) --- In support of healthy, active children and communities, the Rapid City Rush Foundation is making a donation of $75,000 to the Dakota Fields Sports Complex. Upon completion the facility will feature 21 regulation size fields, including 12 fields with lighting for evening play. A family picnic area will also be available, as well as restroom facilities, local vendor areas, and parking for 600 families.
Soccer is recognized as having a substantial, positive impact on communities. Aside from drawing larger tournaments to the state, the sport has also been shown to foster healthy attitudes and leadership skills which children carry with them into later life. A premier soccer complex provides another outlet to help create a positive environment for Rapid City families.
The Rush Foundation is designated to provide a grassroots foundation for a wide variety of charitable endeavors in the Black Hills and surrounding areas. Dedicated to social, educational, health, and cultural needs, the Rush Foundation hopes to help bring the soccer complex’s mission of ‘Dreams to Reality’ true through their $75,000 donation. In honor of the donation and their commitment to community, a field will be named after the Rush Foundation. The complex is scheduled for completion during 2015.
