(GLENDALE, AZ) – The Central Hockey League announced today that Rapid City Rush goaltender Tim Boron has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the period ending February 23, 2014. The Rush’s backstop earns the weekly award for the second time this season (won after the second week of the season back in October). Boron earned three wins during the week allowing just one goal in all three victories (one over St. Charles and two over Arizona). The Winnipeg native stopped 98 shots on 101 attempts (.970 save percentage) and both wins over Arizona came in extra time (Friday in a shootout and Saturday in overtime).The veteran goalie started the season with 19 wins in his first 23 decisions before winning just once from January 1 through February 15. On the season, Boron is 23-10-1 with a league-best 2.45 goals against average and a .918 save percentage (third in the CHL). His 23 wins are tied for second in the Central Hockey League as well, and he is also one win away from tying his career high for most wins in a season at 24.
