(RAPID CITY, SD) – Last Friday night, the Rapid City Rush honored Team USA Olympic Hockey, wearing specialty jerseys sponsored by Action Mechanical to honor the occasion. After the Rush’s hard fought 2-1 shootout win over the Arizona Sundogs, the Rush auctioned off their jerseys, with all proceeds benefitting the Rapid City Rush Foundation. The Rapid City Rush are pleased to announce that the Rush Foundation raised $21,150 in the auction last Friday night.
The specialty jerseys reflected those worn by the 1980 USA Men’s Olympic Hockey Team, famous for their “Miracle on Ice” win over the Soviet Union, considered the biggest upset in sports history. In the season’s entirety, the Rush have worn specialty jerseys on four occasions, bringing in a total of $89,575 after all the jersey auctions.
