(RAPID CITY, SD) – It is safe to say that the Rapid City Rush have had a phenomenal season on and off the ice. In a season filled with shared and broken league records, winning streaks, year-end awards finalists, and players reaching career statistical marks, it only seems routine at this point to see the Rush organization reach another milestone. This mark, however, doesn’t come from the hard-working players on the ice, but rather the hard-working fans cheering them on. On Saturday, in the final home game of the regular season against the Brampton Beast, the Rush will have their 1,000,000th fan walk through the doors of Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
“To see the Rush hit this fan milestone is incredible,” said Mark Binetti, Director of Media Relations and “Voice of the Rush”. “It’s no surprise to see this happen. One of the reasons I came to the Black Hills was because this is a well-supported organization, and the best fans in the CHL make that happen every night. It’s not just a testament to the players and the organization for doing so well over the years, but to those hard-working fans that come to support their team through the best and worst times.”
The lucky fan that will be honored as the 1,000,000th Rush fan to attend a Rush game will win a major prize pack, featuring gifts from the Rush organization, RadioShack of Spearfish, Coca-Cola, Mobile FX, the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center, Isis Hospitality and Cadillac Jacks.
“For our franchise to be in its 6th season and to already have reached the 1,000,000th fan coming out to watch and be a part of the Rapid City Rush is unbelievable as well as very humbling for our organization,” said Rush Head Coach and GM Joe Ferras. “We have the most loyal and dedicated fans and words don’t do justice to how grateful and how fortunate we are of them as an organization. On behalf of ownership group, office staff, coaches and players we want to thank the whole community of Rapid for the incredible support we have received since day one when the Rush came to the Black Hills.”
