SAWYER TRADED FOR FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS

SAWYER TRADED FOR FUTURE CONSIDERATIONS

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced in the ECHL transactions today that defenseman Justin Sawyer has been traded to the Elmira Jackals for future considerations due to ECHL veteran restrictions.

By ECHL rule, a veteran is a player that has logged 260 games or more of professional experience entering the season, and each team within the league is allowed to carry four players classified as veterans on your active roster. After the trade, the Rush’s remaining veterans are Rush captain Jesse Schultz, and Rush defensemen Riley Weselowski, Sean Erickson, and Daniel Tetrault. Sawyer played in two games for the Rush this season, and was on injured reserve following the Rush’s matchup against the Colorado Eagles on October 18th.
