(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, has acquired forward Lindsay Sparks in a trade for future considerations with the Orlando Solar Bears. Sparks is currently in-transit and will not make his Rush debut until next week.
Sparks, a 25 year-old from Oakville, Ontario, comes to the Rush after playing 33 games with the Orlando Solar Bears this season, where he notched 6 goals and 8 assists for 14 points. The 5’9”, 180-pound forward spent last season with the Missouri Mavericks, putting together a career-year in Independence, scoring 22 goals along with 35 assists for 57 points in 62 games played.
Sparks has spent his whole career in the ECHL, skating in 142 total games with the Solar Bears, Mavericks, Cincinnati Cyclones, South Carolina Stingrays, and Greenville Road Warriors, and began his tenure in the “Premiere ‘AA’ Hockey League” as an amateur with the Fort Wayne Komets. Prior to playing professionally, the third-year pro played his collegiate hockey at the University of Michigan, playing in 83 games over the course of four seasons.
