(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes and AHL’s Springfield Falcons, announced today that forward Tyler Scofield has been added to the roster ahead of the team’s four-game road trip this weekend.
Scofield, a 31 year-old native of Prince George, British Columbia, comes to the Black Hills after starting the year in Austria with HC Innsbruck, where he played in 11 games and recorded 5 assists. The seventh-year professional forward began last season scoring 5 goals in 8 games with Austria’s Graz 99ers before heading to the ECHL’s Ontario Reign. In Southern California, he recorded 14 points (5 G, 9 Ast) in 18 games, and then shifted back across the pond to play in Germany’s DEL with Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg for 9 more contests, adding another goal and 3 assists for 4 points.
The vast majority of Scofield’s career has been played in Austria, specifically with Klagenfurter AC, where he was twice the league’s leading postseason scorer in 2011 and 2013, the latter year of which he won the Austrian League Championship. Prior to playing professional, Tyler played college hockey in the NCAA with Bemidji State University and junior hockey in the BCHL with the Vernon Vipers, Prince George Spruce Kings, and Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
