COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, were once again in the community participating in Rapid City Chamber of Commerce mixers at historic Mount Rushmore and while viewing the Kentucky Derby.

On May 10th, Assistant GM Brandon Schumacher and Senior Account Executive Katie Lenerville went to Mount Rushmore to interact with local businesses, as well as loyal Rush corporate partners.

“For me, it’s awesome seeing young, driven people in our business community come together not only to support each other, but to exchange ideas,” Rush Senior Account Executive Katie Lenerville recounted of her experience at Mount Rushmore. “It’s even more fun being a tourist in your own hometown too. Mount Rushmore is a great place and I think it added that much more to the experience.”

Last weekend, Rush GM Joe Ferras, Assistant GM Brandon Schumacher, and Rush Owner Luke Peterson were all in attendance with their significant others as they once again met with local businesses and corporate partners to watch the 142nd running of the Kentucky Derby. All in attendance watched as “Nyqvist”, named after Detroit Red Wings standout Gustav Nyqvist, won the most recent showcase of the “Greatest Two Minutes in Sports”.

“It was my third year attending this mixer, and as always, it was a great time,” said Rush Assistant GM, Brandon Schumacher. “We appreciate the opportunity to give back to the Chamber because they’re an integral part of our business community. Regarding the race, it was bittersweet to watch a horse named after a Detroit Red Wings player take the Kentucky Derby, yet it was still fun to watch with everyone there.”
