(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, announced today that the 40’x80’ flag of the United States that was to be displayed for last Saturday’s “Military Appreciation Night” celebration will be displayed at a later Rush home game that is to be determined.
Because of safety concerns, the Rush organization opted to not display the flag for their pregame ceremonies before the Rush took on their arch rivals, the Colorado Eagles.
“We want to sincerely thank Camping World for allowing the Rush use of their incredible flag,” said Rush General Manager Joe Ferras. “When we did the walk through it became apparent that, with the ice freshly flooded, the size and weight of the flag caused a safety issue and would require a greater number of available people. We will plan accordingly and make sure that the Camping World flag will be unveiled in the near future for an upcoming Rush game.”
The Rush are back on the ice tomorrow for the first of three road games this week against the Tulsa Oilers and Allen Americans. Puck drop for tomorrow’s matchup against the Oilers is slated for 6:05 p.m. MST.
