(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, announced today that the team completed a trade for future considerations with the Norfolk Admirals. The Rush received rookie forward Kyle Dutra to complete the trade from December that sent Brenden Walker to Norfolk.
Dutra comes to the Rush after suiting up with Norfolk for the first 12 games of his professional career. The 6’3”, 205-pound winger notched the first four points of his career, split with a pair of goals and assists each.
“I’m excited to have acquired Kyle, a player that was a great leader and captain at Mercyhurst University,” said Rush Head Coach Daniel Tetrault. “Kyle is a big kid that’s hungry, and has that ‘whatever it takes’ attitude that I’m looking for in my team as he enters next season with experience at this level with Norfolk. We’ll count on Kyle to utilize his size and strength to go to the dirty areas for us.”
A native of Mississauga, Ontario, the 24 year-old Dutra played four years of college hockey with Mercyhurst Universty in the NCAA, registering 32 goals and 39 assists for 71 points in 147 games.
