(BOISE, ID) – The Iowa Wild, AHL affiliate of the Rapid City Rush, recalled rookies Gustav Bouramman and Jack Walker to the Wild ahead of their three-in-three this weekend that starts against the defending Calder Cup Champion Grand Rapids Griffins tonight.
Bouramman leaves the Rush as the team’s leading scoring defenseman. The 6’0”, 200-pound blue-liner added an assist on Wednesday against the Steelheads to increase his point total to 27 points on the season in 54 games, with 14 of those points coming on the power play, which leads the Rush roster. A native of Stockholm, Sweden, Bouramman played his major-junior hockey with the OHL’s Sault-Ste-Marie Greyhounds and notched 126 points in 201 games (13g-113ast). He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the 2015 NHL Draft (7th Rd-#201).
Walker heads up to the Wild after a recent stretch in which he’s registered 5 assists in his last 3 contests. The 5’10”, 180-pound forward leaves the Rush with 10 goals, 18 assists, and 28 points in 35 games. Additionally, he has already appeared in a pair of games in the AHL with Iowa. Prior to playing pro, the Edina, Minnesota native played in the WHL with the Victoria Royals, and in 318 games notched 101 goals, 147 assists, and 248 points. He was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2016 NHL Draft (6th Rd-#152).
The Rush will rematch the Idaho Steelheads in round two of their three-game set. Puck drop for the game two is slated for 7:10 p.m. tonight at CenturyLink Arena.
