RUSH RELEASE 2019-20 FULL SCHEDULE

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, in conjunction with the ECHL, announced the team’s full schedule for the 2019-20 ECHL season today.

The home schedule was already released in May.  The team’s promotional schedule, outlining theme nights and specialty jerseys, is expected to be announced in July.

Notes and numbers about the 2019-20 full schedule:

• The Rush begin the season on the road for five games, with the first three to be played in three nights in three different cities, opening against Allen, then traveling to Wichita, and concluding in Tulsa before squaring off against the Oilers in Oklahoma the next weekend.
• The Rush will begin the defense of their home ice for a 12th season on home-opening weekend, which is slated for Friday, October 25th, and Saturday, October 26th against the Utah Grizzlies.
• November sees the Rush play a season-high 15 games, with 9 coming on the road (also a season-high).
• December features the most home games this season at 8, with six coming during a home stand between December 4th and December 14th in which they’ll welcome the Wheeling Nailers to the Black Hills for the first matchups ever in team history.  Prior to the Christmas holiday, the Rush will visit the Allen Americans for a two-game set.  The team ends December, and 2019 for that matter, against the Wichita Thunder on December 27th and 28th before starting 2020 away from home to celebrate the New Year.
• Starting off 2020, the Rush will play a “three-in-three” against the Utah Grizzlies, which marks their first visit to Utah in the campaign.  The Rush have six home games in January, including a three-game series from January 8th-11th in which they’ll square off against the Cincinnati Cyclones for the first time at home in team history. Prior to the All-Star Break, there is another “three-in-three” that features the Indy Fuel (first matchup since 2017), and concludes against Cincinnati.  The road matchup against the Cyclones marks the third season in the last four in which the Rush travel to play the Cyclones.
• Announced earlier this offseason, the Rush will host their Third Annual “School Day Game” on February 12th against the Allen Americans at 10:35 a.m.
• The longest home stand for the Rush spans February 28th-March 15th, featuring 8 games against all divisional rivals (Tulsa, Utah, and Idaho).  That home stand is countered immediately by the longest road trip of the season that spans March 19th-28th, with the first three games coming in three nights in three cities (Allen, Tulsa, Kansas City), and concludes in Utah.
• Of the 36 home games this year, 26 are on Fridays and Saturdays (both at 13). The remaining 10 home games are split between Wednesday nights (7), and Sunday afternoons (3).  On the road, the Rush play on Monday and Tuesday once, Wednesday three times, Friday 11 times, Saturday 13 times, and Sunday 6 times.
• There are eight “three-in-three” series this season for the Rush to play in, one more than in the last two seasons combined.
• For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the team will finish their season at home, and in back-to-back years will do so against the Kansas City Mavericks.
• Of the 72 game schedule, 63 games are played against Mountain Division opponents, the most divisional games in a single season since the team first joined the ECHL in the 2014-15 season (70).  Below is a breakdown of how often the Rush will play their opposition this season in their 72 game slate:

  • Idaho Steelheads: 13 games (6 home/7 away)
  • Tulsa Oilers: 12 games (6 home/6 away)
