QUENNEVILLE NAMED VICTORIA’S GARDEN PLAYER OF THE MONTH

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, announced today that Rush Captain Peter Quenneville has been selected as the Victoria’s Garden Player of the Month for November.

Quenneville finished the month tied for the ECHL scoring lead with 21 points in 15 games in November with 7 goals and 14 assists. The 6’0”, 190-pound forward tied a Rush franchise record with a seven-game goal-scoring streak from November 15th at Tulsa to November 29th at Idaho, and is currently on an eight-game point streak in which he’s nearly averaged two points per game. Quenneville is tied for the ECHL’s scoring lead with 30 points in 22 games, and is the ECHL’s leader with 20 assists and 10 power play assists.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Quenneville returns to North America for his fifth season of professional hockey. In his last three European seasons, he’s spent time in Norway, the Czech Republic, Finland, and Denmark. With the Aalborg Pirates in Denmark, he was the league’s leading goal-scorer in 2017 (30g in 45 games) and won the 2018 Danish League and Danish Cup Championships. In his career, Quenneville has played in 207 games, and amassed 82 goals, 90 assists, and 172 points, and a +30 rating. Prior to beginning his professional career, he played two years in the AJHL with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, one year in the USHL with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, less than a season in the NCAA with Qunnipiac University, and two years in the WHL with the Brandon Wheat Kings. In his lone season with Dubuque, he won the 2013 Clark Cup Championship. He was drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2013 NHL Draft (7th Rd-#195).

On behalf of Quenneville, a flower arrangement from Victoria’s Garden will be sent to the nursing staff of the Regional Health John T. Vucurevich Cancer Care Institute.

“With our ‘Hockey N’ Hope’ cancer awareness night right around the corner, I couldn’t think of any other group that’s more deserving of this recognition than the nursing staff at Regional Health that’s helping take care of those battling cancer,” Rush Captain Peter Quenneville said of his flower donation. “This affects everyone, and these men and women battling this sinister disease are fighting for their lives. It takes special people to care for these brave individuals, and I don’t believe they get enough credit for what they do. Here’s to the nurses at the Regional Health John T. Vucurevich Cancer Care Institute. Thank you for your continued work in caring for these people.”
