RUSH ANNOUNCE SERIES OF TRANSACTIONS AHEAD OF WEEKEND

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, announced four Black Hills Chiropractic Roster Adjustments ahead of tonight’s series-opener against the Wichita Thunder.

Rush net-minder Tyler Parks has been returned from his loan to the Rush’s AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners.  Matteo Gennaro has been loaned to the Rush by Tucson and activated off of Injured Reserve. He will make his Rush debut tonight and wear #23.  Rookie forward Darian Romanko has signed a Standard Player Contract with the Rush. He too will make his Rush debut tonight and wear #29.  Rookie forward Gage Torrel has been traded to the Fort Wayne Komets to complete the future considerations deal made for Eric Israel on October 19th.

Parks heads back to the Rush following the first AHL call-up of his professional career. Though he did not see game action with the Roadrunners, he’s off to the best start to a season in his professional career this year with the Rush, registering an 8-4-3-0 record with one shutout, a 2.94 GAA, and .916 SV% in 16 games.

Gennaro, a second-year professional, comes to the Rush on assignment from the Roadrunners. The 6’2”, 187-pound forward played with Tucson as a rookie last season, and registered 7 goals, 5 assists, and 12 points in 58 games. Prior to playing professional hockey, the St. Albert, Alberta native enjoyed a five-year career in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders, Calgary Hitmen, and Swift Current Broncos, earning career totals of 124 goals, 124 assists, and 248 points in 338 games. In 2018, he won the WHL Championship as a member of Swift Current. Gennaro was drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the 2015 NHL Draft (7th Rd-#203).

Romanko comes to the Rush set to make his 2019-20 season debut. The 6’1”, 205-pound forward turned professional last season with the Norfolk Admirals, scoring his first professional goal in his debut on April 3, 2019 against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, and finished his first three professional outings with 2 points. Before joining the pro ranks, the native of Shoreview, Minnesota played four years of college hockey with the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers, earning 21 points in 137 games and back-to-back Big Ten Regular Season Championships. Additionally, he played two seasons with the NAHL’s Minnesota Wilderness, and racked up 102 points in 114 games, as well as the 2015 Robertson Cup Championship. In 2017, Romanko was invited to the Vegas Golden Knights NHL Development Camp.

Torrel was traded to the Fort Wayne Komets to compete the future considerations deal made for defenseman Eric Israel on October 19, 2019. In 20 games with the Rush this season, he earned the first three goals of his professional career with 6 PIM and a -9 rating.

The Rush return to home ice tonight, December 27th, and tomorrow, Saturday, December 28th against the Wichita Thunder. Puck drop for both matchups is slated for 7:05 p.m. MDT at Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Ice Arena.
