LAST TIME OUT: Matt Marcinew and Alex Aleardi both scored but Rapid City allowed three goals in the third period and was beaten by the Tulsa Oilers 5-2 on Sunday afternoon at the BOK Center.

DO THE ROSTER SHUFFLE: Over the last week, the Rush have placed defenseman and captain Kenton Helgesen on injured reserve, had defenseman Tyson Helgesen and forward Calder Brooks called up to the AHL Calgary Wranglers, had goaltender Daniil Chechelev assigned by the Wranglers, released goaltender Nicholas Latinovich, and signed defensemen Charles Martin and Alex Carlson. Brooks appeared in Calgary’s 3-1 loss at Colorado on Friday night and had no points but was +1. Carlson returns to the Rush for his second stint with the team. He had played seven games for Rapid City in January and in the interim was in the SPHL with the Quad City Storm. Martin will make his professional debut with Rapid City. He was signed following the completion of his college career at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. During his senior season in 2022-23, he had three goals and 15 assists in 28 games.

GOALS IN BUNCHES: Alex Aleardi has goals in three consecutive games and now has 17 on the season. It’s the third time this year Aleardi has had a goal-scoring streak of at least three games; he had goals in three in a row from November 19-23 and in four in a row from December 21-28. Prior to this streak, Aleardi had not scored in seven games.

HAPPY TO BE HERE: The Rush are making their second trip to Allen this season; they swept the Americans in a three-game weekend from December 2-5. Including the postseason, Rapid City was a perfect 5-0-0-0 at Allen during the 2021-22 season. The Rush have not lost at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center since the final game of the 2020-21 season, June 5, 2021, when the Americans beat them, 5-0.

LEADING THE WAY FOR ALLEN: Allen has both the reigning ECHL Player of the Month and ECHL Rookie of the Month on its roster. Hank Crone was named player of the month after scoring 11 goals along with 13 assists in 12 games in February. Liam Finlay earned rookie of the month honors with eight goals and 13 assists in 12 games.

ODDS AND ENDS: Logan Nelson leads the Rush with four goals against Allen this season...Matt Marcinew has two goals and five assists in three games against the Americans...Allen has the top two point-getters in the ECHL on its roster. Hank Crone leads the league with 72 points and Jack Combs is second with 71. Crone also leads the league with 31 goals and Combs and Colton Hargrove are tied for second with 30.

UP NEXT: Rapid City and Allen will face off again on Sunday afternoon. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. CT at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center.
