(TULSA, Okla.)—The Rapid City Rush dropped the series finale to the Tulsa Oilers, 8-2, at the BOK Center on Sunday.
After two tight games on Thursday and Saturday, the Oilers ran away with this one. While the first period was scoreless, Tulsa scored three in the second and five in the third against a tired Rush group.
Ryan Wagner scored his 28th goal of the season late in the second period, extending his team lead. Deni Goure picked up the assist on the play, giving him 50 points on the season.
Jonathan Yantsis scored his first goal in a Rush uniform late in the third period while on the power play. Yantsis, picked up by Rapid City after being released by Trois-Rivieres on Monday, finishes his first series with two points in three games.
Matt Radomsky stopped 30 out of 36 shots and was pulled after the sixth goal against. Nathan Torchia received his first action at the professional level, making seven saves in 12:33 of game time. Vyacheslav Buteyets earned the win for Tulsa.
Rapid City concludes the season series against Tulsa with a 3-5 record. The Rush begin their final road set against Kansas City on Wednesday.
