(RAPID CITY, SD) – Wednesday night, the Rapid City Rush held their 6th Annual Season Ticket Party, honoring the fans that have helped the organization over its brief history. The turnout was phenomenal, as 1,316 people attended to meet and greet their 2013/2014 Rapid City Rush Hockey team.
“It was great to see all of our loyal and dedicated season ticket holders and corporate season ticket holders in attendance tonight”, said Head Coach and GM Joe Ferras. “I think it was an eye opener for some of our new players, first year pros, and players coming from other teams to see the amazing turn out. This is the support that we have had since day one and it certainly doesn’t go unappreciated. Our season ticket holders and corporate partners are our life blood.
“We’ve been very fortunate to have great success and bring a championship home to this community. Our goal from since day one was to make the Rush the community of Rapid City’s team, and having seen this support for six consecutive years is overwhelming and humbling”.
When asked about the success of those involved, Coach Ferras added, “Mark Binetti did a great job tonight as MC. He is really witty young man and he will learn quickly that as much as he’s going to give it to the players, he will get it back ten-fold. [Laughs] Overall, I am very proud of our entire staff. They have worked diligently in preparing for the up-coming events and did a tremendous job tonight. I also think it was great for the players to just be themselves and interact with our loyal fans. I am extremely happy with how tonight went and cannot wait for the home opener on Friday”.
The Rush’s home opener will take place this Friday, October 25th, as they take on the CHL’s first ever expansion team from Canada, the Brampton Beast.
