(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today the acquisition of two amateurs prior to the conclusion of the ECHL’s regular season: Kyle Just and Coda Gordon.
Kyle Just, a native of Arnprior, Ontario, comes to the Rush after a successful career with Mercyhurst University in the NCAA. In parts of 5 seasons with the Lakers, the 5’11”, 190-pound forward played in 143 games, recording 29 goals and 73 assists for 102 points. Prior to playing collegiately, the 24 year-old played in the CJHL with the Pembroke Lumber Kings, winning back-to-back-to-back CJHL championships from 2007-2010.
Coda Gordon, a 6’2”, 195-pound forward, comes to the Rush after a successful junior career in the WHL with the Swift Current Broncos. The 20-year old spent all 258 of his WHL games with the Broncos, recording 244 points (98 G, 146 Ast) in that span. A native of Calgary, Alberta, Gordon played in the CHL Top Prospects Game in the 2011-12 season, and was drafted in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Draft by the Calgary Flames (#165 overall).
