(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, took a trip to Hot Springs and played golf with veterans of our proud nation’s military with the VA in Hot Springs at Southern Hills Golf Course last week.
“It was a great day out on the golf course to have the privilege to spend the day with these great young men and genuine heroes,” said Rush GM Joe Ferras. “To have the opportunity to spend time, get to know them in a relaxed and personal setting, and thank them for their sacrifice was an honor and a humbling experience.”
“A few months ago I invited The Rapid City Rush to Hot Springs to visit with our veterans and golf with us at the Southern Hills Golf Course. Although the weather was a little chilly and windy all of the veterans had a great time,” said Scott Schumacher, Voluntary Service Specialist of the VA Black Hills Healthcare System-Hot Springs. “The Staff and Veterans thank the Rush and we look forward to the next time the Rush can come to Hot Springs and participate in our veteran’s golf program.”
The Rush truly enjoys the opportunity to give back to the community, especially veterans of our nation’s military. Stay tuned for more happenings with the Rush in the community as we lead up to season number nine of hockey in Rapid City!
