(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes, announced today that the AHL affiliate of the Rush, the Tucson Roadrunners, has recalled goaltender Marek Langhamer and assisgned rookie defenseman Dysin Mayo to the club. Mayo is expected to make his Rush debut tonight, and will wear #16.
Langhamer only played in one game with the Rush this season, which was a 33-save win against the Allen Americans on November 19th. He has one game with the Roadrunners under his belt, winning that contest as well with 43 saves on 44 shots. Langhamer, a second-year pro from Moravska Trebova, Czech Republic, was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2012 NHL Draft (7th Rd-#184), after a stellar four-year career with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the WHL.
Dysin Mayo comes to the Rush on an assignment from the Roadrunners. The 6’0”, 185-pound blueliner played in 3 games with Tucscon, registering 1 assist. Last year, he skated in his first professional action with the former Springfield Falcons of the AHL, notching his first professional point, also an assist, in 5 games played. Prior to playing professionally, the Victoria, British Columbia native skated in 248 games over four seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL, where he recorded 28 goals, 106 assists, and 134 points. With the Oil Kings, he won the 2014 WHL Championship and Memorial Cup Championship, and was drafted by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2014 NHL Draft (5th Rd-#133).
