(RAPID CITY, S.D.)—The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames, announced Thursday, in an Active Life Chiropractic roster adjustment, the club has traded Mitchell Smith to the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for future considerations.
Smith, 23, spent the last year and a half in Rapid City following a trade from the Bloomington Bison in February of 2025. Smith played 86 total games with the Rush and recorded 18 points (4g+14a).
The Saginaw, Michigan native is entering his third professional season, entirely in the ECHL. He has totaled 102 pro games and 19 points between the Rush and Bison.
