(RAPID CITY, S.D.)—The Rapid City Rush, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Calgary Flames, announced Monday, in an Active Life Chiropractic roster adjustment, the club has acquired the ECHL rights to Kyle Walker from the Reading Royals in exchange for cash considerations.
Walker, 26, has already signed with the Calgary organization, having agreed to terms on a two-way AHL/ECHL contract with the American Hockey League’s Calgary Wranglers for the 2026-27 season.
The 6-foot-3, 205-pound defenseman suited up in three games with the Wranglers while on a Professional Tryout contract in April. Walker made his professional debut with Reading, posting three regular season and five playoff games with the Royals.
A Leduc, Alberta native, Walker played five collegiate seasons at Mount Royal University in Calgary and accumulated 78 points (16g+62a) in 128 games. Walker served as captain of the Cougars in his fourth and fifth years at MRU.
