(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Rapid City Rush announced today the acquisition of rookie defenseman Michael Young. The 6’2”, 212-pound defenseman comes to the Rush by virtue of an assignment by the AHL’s Providence Bruins
Young has enjoyed success in his rookie season, previously playing with the ECHL’s South Carolina Stingrays. In North Charleston, Young recorded 2 points, both assists, and spent 15 minutes in the penalty box, along with a -1 rating.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Young, 26, played collegiate hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, recording 68 points (13 G, 55 Ast) in 148 games played, and following his collegiate play, suited up for 1 contest with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals last season.
