(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Arizona Coyotes, NHL affiliate of the Rapid City Rush, have announced that rookies Michael Bunting and Dakota Mermis have been recalled to the AHL’s Springfield Falcons. They join Dan O’Donoghue, who was recalled to the Falcons earlier this week.
This marks the second time this season that Bunting, a 20 year-old forward and native of Scarborough, Ontario, has been called up to Springfield. With the Rush, the former Sault Ste. Marie Greyhound (OHL) played in 7 games with the Rush, scoring 2 goals, the first of his professional career, along with a -5 rating and 4 PIM.
Mermis receives his first call-up from the Rush to Springfield this season. The 21 year-old defenseman and Memorial Cup Champion with the Oshawa Generals (OHL) just a year ago played in 5 games with the Rush, scoring his first professional goal along with 2 assists for 3 points and a +1 rating.
The Rush continue their five-game series against the Utah Grizzlies tomorrow night, November 20th, at Premier Home Mortgage Ice in Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. Friday’s matchup features “Armed Forces Night”, where the Rush will wear specialty jerseys for the occasion as the organization pays tribute to our nation’s military. Tickets are still available; call 716-PUCK for more details.
