WALKER CALLED UP TO IOWA

(RAPID CITY, SD) – The Iowa Wild, AHL affiliate of the Rapid City Rush, announced today that the team has called up rookie forward Jack Walker ahead of the team’s two-game set against the AHL’s top team, the Manitoba Moose.

Walker made an immediate impact on the Rush, separating himself as a key offensive contributor since his assignment on December 13th. The 5’10”, 180-pound speedster racked up 9 points in 12 games with the Rush, scoring 7 goals with 2 helpers. Walker’s 7 goals came in a nine-game span in which he tied a Rush rookie franchise record with a four-game goal-scoring streak from December 20th against Idaho to December 29th against Colorado. Additionally, 2 of Walker’s 7 ignitions of the goal lamp came while the team was shorthanded in back-to-back games.

A native of Edina, Minnesota, Walker played five years of junior hockey with the WHL’s Victoria Royals, compiling career totals of 101 goals, 147 assists, and 248 points in 318 games. Walker was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2016 NHL Draft (6th Rd-#152).

The Rush continue their six game road trip against the Colorado Eagles with the final meeting of their three-game set tonight. Puck drop is slated for 7:05 p.m. MST at the Budweiser Events Center.
