NOTES
YOU 8-2 SEE IT: For the first time this season, the Rush surpassed their highest goal total in a game of 5 and dropped 8 on the Wichita Thunder. Not only did those in attendance get free Watiki for next week, but the Rush finished just one goal away from the all-time franchise record of 9, orginially set on December 8, 2009 in a 9-2 win on the road against the then Missouri Mavericks.
MULTIPLICITY: Wednesday’s winning effort saw 7 players register mutli-point games, led by Charles-David Beaudoin’s four-point night with a power play goal and three assists. Additionally, despite the exorbitant amount of goals scored, all 8 goals were scored individually, with zero multi-goal games earned.
PLEASE SIR, I WANT SOME MO: Making a highly anticipated return to the lineup for the Rush on Wednesday was 2019 Blaine Jarvis Heart and Soul Award-winner, Assistant Captain Cedric Montminy, and he celebrated the occasion with his third goal of the season in Wednesday’s rout of the Thunder. Due to an upper body injury, Montminy had missed the last 29 games for the Rush over the course of 75 days before putting his sweater on again.
GO GO POWER RANGERS: Wednesday night was the third time all season, and the first time since back-to-back games against Tulsa on October 13th and 19th that the Rush scored three times on the power play. Ryker Killins, Charles-David Beaudoin, and Keeghan Howdeshell all hit pay dirt on the man-advantage, with the latter two scoring 11 seconds or earlier into their power plays.
IT’S BEEN AWHILE: For the first time since January 27, 2017, the Rush will square off against the Indy Fuel. In the previous two meetings, the Rush are 1-1-0-0. Oddly enough, both winning sides won by virtue of a shutout: the Rush, thanks to Danny Battochio via 26 saves on January 15, 2016 (2-0 W), and Jake Hildebrand on 45 saves in the most recent matchup. Additionally, all three meetings have come in Indianapolis.
WE’RE GOING STREAKING!: Only two players carry a statistical streak into tonight’s lone matchup against the Fuel:
- Brennan Saulnier: has assists and points in three straight games (3gp, 2g-6ast-8pts)
- Salunier also has three consecutive multi-point outings
- Eric Israel: has assists and points in three straight games (3gp, 3ast)
